The Australian Marine Export & Superyacht Industry Awards were held last night with MUIR Winches named Australian Large Exporter of the Year.
Muir designs and manufacture world-renowned winches and anchor windlasses for vessels from five-metres to 150-metres. Managing director Matthew Johnston was at the dinner in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland to accept the awards.
“We were honoured to be recognised by our peers,” says Matthew Johnston, managing director of Muir Winches.
“This comes down to the loyalty of our clients, and their ongoing support of us,” says Johnston.
Praised by peers for its ability to change with the market, one of Muir’s strengths has been its dedication to developing and maintaining strong working relationships with European superyacht yards. This has included on-site visits, as well as showing dedication to ensuring key team members are on the ground at boat shows, conferences and in yards around the world. The approach has seen Muir steadily maintain growth.
Previous years awards have seen Muir pick up the Superyacht Industry Business of the Year award for manufacturing, Exporter of the Year, and John Muir, founder of the company, induct- ed into the Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Hall of Fame.
Muir’s products are in demand globally, due to the company’s reputation for delivering parts that work, and service that delivers time and time again.
With ongoing research and development resulting in design and manufacturing alterations, Muir’s products set the pace for other industry producers. The range will be on display this week at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, immediately following the ASMEX awards, as well as simultaneously at the Gold Coast Marine Expo.
With more than 60 stockists worldwide, MUIR continues to be the pre-eminent expert in an- choring and mooring systems worldwide. MUIR products meet or surpass the globe’s strictest classification requirements, including ABS, LRS, DNV, BV, NKK, GL, CCS, RINA, RRR, RMSR, and comply with MCA and USL codes.
